‘Empire’ Auction House (LLC) was established in September, 2008. Our key sphere of interest are faleristics and numismatics of the Russian Empire which reflects our personal preferences and many years of collecting and sales experience. We specialize in rarities and collections curatorship in order that these collections be interesting not only historically-wise but also be investment-attractive.

Our first auction took place on October 18, 2008 at Marriott Moscow Royal Aurora conference hall. You may judge the level of the items by the exhibited collections. We believe that Russian faleristics and numismatics market requires the specialized auctions featuring the top and rare lots of our sphere which show up to 20-25% price growth p.a. According to the latest Russian and international trends, the medium term growth of the antiques market is stable which makes it highly eligible for investments. Given the small size and easy shipment of the faleristic and numismatic items we believe them to be a good investment vehicle. Our staff will enhance its activities in this sector of the market and organize auctions in accordance with the above stated position.

In our opinion, one of the reasons for the relatively low investment in medals and coins is the inadequate media coverage of their price growth trends. That is why we plan to create the resources on coins and medals with the statistics on pricing in the latest decades. We believe that this information will help make the right investment choice with minimum risk.

In 2009 the ‘Empire’ Auction House expanded its activities by organizing the rare book auctions featuring the rare antique and bibliophile editions, maps, engravings, posters, photographs and other printed products of the XVIII-XX centuries and also the manuscripts and autographs of the prominent people.

The first ‘Antique books, maps, photographs, posters’ auction took place on March 28, 2009 at Marriott Moscow Royal Aurora conference hall.

Apart form organizing auctions we also purchase and sell on commission the antique items in our show-room, perform evaluation and attribution of faleristic and numismatic items, arts and crafts, antique books, assist in private collections selection and formation and also represent our clients at all major European auctions.
